Welcome to our Blog

Welcome, and thank you for visiting our site! To access our resources, please see the below posts, where you will find: links to websites about reading to your child, a rating of each website, and a brief description of what the site contains. We hope this information will be helpful to you, in making reading to your child a more fulfilling experience for both you and your child!
(Note: All our web links have been included on this website because they relate to Child Development in that: reading to children improves their literacy skills, and helps foster a love for reading, and learning to read is an important part of a child's cognitive development.)

Strugging to Read

Rating: 17
Site Summary:
“Of all the skills children learn, reading is arguably the most important. It is a means of gaining knowledge about many different subjects and of understanding the world. Today, especially in the developed world, it is considered a fundamental skill required for success. Unfortunately, for many children with reading disabilities, learning to read is one of the most arduous and frustrating activities they will ever face. All too often, the barriers they face outweigh their desire to read and, without proper guidance, they never overcome them.”We chose this site because it shows important milestones of reading and what areas children with reading disabilities struggle.
